Description

This is a notarized transcription of a Bible dated 1870. Many dates were recorded years after the event. The earliest dates are over 100 years prior to this Bible’s publication, and the names are for members of both the Meers and Smith families.

The Bible belonged to Mrs. William Johnson Talbott (aka Sarah Emily Meers). Her marriage to William Johnson Talbott occurred on 23 Dec 1869. Since the Bible was published shortly after their marriage, it may have been obtained as the Family Bible for the newlyweds.

Dates occurring prior to the publish date of the Bible may not have been recorded from memory but may have been transcribed from an earlier Family Bible or Bibles within the young couple’s family.
